This blog is published by the new, statewide Colorado AIDS Project. It is a view into the world of four AIDS service organizations merging and moving forward together.
The merger will be official the 1st of October. But the celebration of what it means starts now, in the form of an online conversation for all to see.
And by “all,” we mean the many wonderful clients, donors, partners, staffers, volunteers, supporters and friends of the Northern Colorado AIDS Project (NCAP), the Southern Colorado AIDS Project (S-CAP), the Western Colorado AIDS Project (WestCAP), and what is now becoming named the Denver Colorado AIDS Project (formerly, simply, CAP).
Each of the regional ASOs will continue to operate independently. Each CAP will continue to have the same name, the same great people, and offer the same great services. But each is now part of a unified effort, marching forward together to meet a rapidly and dramatically evolving need.
This merger is the right thing at the right time time for people impacted by HIV and AIDS in our great state. While the experience of clients and donors will remain the same – immensely and uniquely local – the unified front will mean greater efficiency, greater access to funds, and greater leveraging of funds to meet the needs of those living with HIV and AIDS and to reduce new infections.
